Real World Conditioning

lazinessI was reading through some of my favorite training sites this afternoon and came across two awesome posts by my buddy Joe Hashey at his site Synergy Athletics and got inspired.  Thanks Joe!

Someone asked him what he did on weekends.  That question got me thinking.

When I used to work in a big box gym, clients would come in all the time on Monday mornings and tell me they hadn’t done anything since Thursday and they had three parties to attend during the weekend so I really had to kick their ass to make up for it.  MAKE UP FOR IT?  I would think to myself, how in the hell am I supposed to make up for YOUR three days of laziness and debauchery? Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a hard night of partying once in a while.  More often than not, most people take it too far, ruining all the progress they made during the week.

Unfortunately, this all too common.  Folks are “good” and “workout hard” during the week only to wreck their diet and derail their training on weekend.

So what do I do on the weekend?  Saturday is my rest day with me usually spending 2-3hrs in the hot summer sun working on my yard.  Saturday night, I take my wife and son out to dinner for the one meal during the week where I don’t worry about what goes in my mouth!

What about Sunday?  Sunday mornings I kick ass! I get my training week started with some real world conditioning outdoors in the fresh air.  This morning I rocked 20 minutes of conditioning full of hill sprints and burpees!

That’s how I roll on the weekends!

Check out my latest real world conditioning video I put together.  It’s a sneak peak in to a killer bonus training video I’m putting together for my subscribers.  If you want to see the finished product, sign up for my newsletter at the top of the page.
