		<description>Jamie,

GREAT POST! I had no idea that the Iron Gym Commercial was actually a video response to an actual Planet Fitness commercial - I guess I was just too busy in my small BARBARIC Garage Gym getting people stronger than to be watching T.V.

I agree with what you say in conclusion... it doesn\&#039;t matter what you do just as long as you are getting stronger. I DO DISAGREE STRONGLY with where people CHOOSEto do it however.

***SECRET*** Disclaimer: This will DEFINATLY PISS SOME OF YOU OFF!

Having worked in \&quot;Big Box gym\&quot; I can confidently say that their bottom line is \&quot;their bottom line\&quot;. Most if not all commercial gyms are interested in selling you a membership and then \&quot;up-selling\&quot; you on services that they know you won\&#039;t ever get full use of. What is the reasoning you may ask? Cover expenses - some commercial gym\&#039;s are nothing more than licenses to print money - if these places genuinely gave a sh*t about their members there would be recognition boards of some kind somewhere! (Haven\&#039;t seen one - Have you? ...aside from that member that has dropped thousands on PT sessions and is now the poster lemming to get the minions to flock and do the same!)

WAKE UP! We at our most elmental level of cellular composition are ANIMALS! We were built to move! You tell me how a machine that restricts you to a single plane of motion a) makes you stronger and b) helps to prevent injury over the long term?

Here is where I digress and go on a small tirade - BORED? STOP F#CKIN\&#039; READING! PUMPED - READ ON MY FRIENDS!

Double Jeopardy Time:

Q: What is the number one injury among an aging population?
A: What is Hip Displacement / Hip Dislocation from a fall?

How the f#ck are people breaking / fracturing their hips? Is osteoporosis and osteoarthritis really that prevalent and the root of all this trauma? I would strongly argue - F#CK NO! I will argue that the root of the rise in hip fracture and hip displacement is the fact that most of western society if not all have lost any if not all functional range of motion (ROM) around their hips.

What is at the root of this loss of ROM? MODERNIZATION! How many hours do you spend at a desk? Conversely, how many do you spend squatting or deadlifting or snatching or cleaning? How many powerlifters or competitive weightlifters do you know or have heard of fracturing a hip? NONE.

Stop being lazy people. Break away from the norm, defy convention. Rocky trained \&#039;Old Skool\&#039; for one reason and one reason only - because the sh*t works - PERIOD. Don\&#039;t be influenced by popular culture and the media! Do your homework and TRAIN hard and GET STRONG; what good is pretty muscle if you are becoming more susceptable to chronic injuries?

3 words to close and you tell me what adjectives pop into your head in the comments section below:

\&quot;HUGH JACKMAN - WOLVERINE\&quot;

My Adjective: RUGGED!

In Health &amp; Strength,
